About the founders:
The founders originally met in 2003 when their mutual interests to empower girl's leadership skills found them on the same Board of Directors at an Arizona-based girl’s charity.  From that experience, in 2008 they took their inspiration and determination and created The Girls Rule Foundation focusing on empowerment for girls. The founders are business owners, mothers, girlfriends and most of all, passionate about making a difference for teen girls.

"If we learn at a young age to truly love ourselves and to nurture our individual spirits, we are better prepared to maneuver in the adult world with its challenges and endless possibilities"

Laura Anderson - As a high school student I was blessed with so many amazing opportunities and mentors and I saw a shift in focus and resources going to diciplinary programs instead of leadership and self-development. This was just not "ok" with me and I made a commitment to create experiences that would give teens a strong belief in themselves and their abilitiy to fulfill their dreams. The Girls Rule! Foundation is a fulfillment of my dream and I hope it gives young women the knowingness and skills to experience their unique power and grace.

Stephanie Millner
- The Foundation to me is a stepping stone in the journey of life. I believe a dream is reality that hasn't yet met the right tools. My hope for the Foundation is to provide the right tools for girls to love themselves, enjoy life and live their dreams. As a teen,  I was fortunate enough to have mentors that encouraged me. I want to offer this same support so that any young woman willing to believe in themselves will have the same opportunities for self-discovery and achievement as I was given.

Jenn Kaye - Being a self-confident, powerful person in the world means knowing what you want and having the confidence in yourself to go after it. In addition to inspiring young women to be leaders of their own lives, the Foundation is important because it will provide practical experiences that they can apply immediately. Building a strong community of mentors, teen leaders and experts with real-world knowledge is a foundation that I am passionate about and believe will benefit young women for the rest of their lives.

Dena Patton
- The teen years are challenging for any teen and this organization represents what I think most teens want: to better understand herself, to know her dreams (and that she can actually make them happen), to have the tools to handle challenges, to know she matters, to learn the tools to know how to create her future, and to be mentored by people who believe in her. I truly want each girl to know she is brilliant, beautiful and bold! I love working with teen girls and hope that the Girls Rule! Foundation makes a difference for not only the teens involved but their families, and their communities.

We are looking for fantastic leaders and volunteers:

We will be developing three teams of leadership in 2011

1. Board of Directors (warriors for the cause-invite only)
2. Advisory Committee (helps with the cause, fundraising and programs)

3. Lioness Tribe (fans/supporters/volunteers of the cause)

If you have a heart for teen girls and you are interested in one of the above leadership teams, please fill out the form to the right and email it to info@girlsrulefoundation.org.

"There’s no substitute for a young girl who acquires strong life skills, clarity about her future and a solid self esteem – she’ll be unstoppable and will be able to achieve anything she dreams possible!" - Stephanie Millner
